"Unfortunately, during the February 2010 cold spell, there was a leak from my top floor apartment, in Sozopol, into some apartments below, a worrying problem, when you live in London, and cannot easily inspect the damage yourself.
Fortunately I had taken out insurance, through a UK broker, with Lloyds of London, but my insurers urgently required a completed claims form.
Fortunately I was recommended BG Surveyors who, the same day I made contact, appointed an English speaking surveyor from Burgas to inspect my apartment.
Within two days, my apartment had been inspected, and the claim form competently completed in English by BG Surveyors and emailed to me, with photos. The cause of the leak was identified and an estimate of the cost of repair was made.
I was satisfied that a fair fee was invoiced. I have no hesitation in recommending BG Surveyors and will use their services in future to supervise maintenance and repairs at my apartment."

I have a confession. When I first approached BG Surveyor for an inspection of my apartment in Bansko, I was privately sceptical as to the quality of service I would receive. Up to that point, everything connected with the purchase of the apartment had been highly stressful from banks that constantly changed the rules on mortgages to a developer that seemed to specialize in making things as complex and protracted as possible. Throw in the fact that my emails would often go unanswered for days, and that replies when they did finally arrive would frequently be hard to understand, and you have all the ingredients of a nightmare.
The contrast between all this and the service offered by Ivo and his team is astonishing. Right from the start, they understood what needed to be done and set about making it happen, even though I had given them a pretty tight deadline in which to perform their task. Communication was excellent, with emails answered promptly and courteously in beautiful, fluent English prose.
All my queries were dealt with, and at no stage did I feel as though I had been forgotten. BG Surveyor received the keys to the apartment on my behalf and delivered them safely to me here in the UK. The team even carried out an extra, complimentary check to ensure that all the construction problems had been fixed.
For any English person with an apartment in Bulgaria, I would unequivocally recommend BG Surveyor as the firm to carry out the necessary inspection. I am extremely grateful to Ivo and his team, and most relieved that I put my trust in them. I suggest that others do the same.

Many thanks for the service that you provided it was very good and successful.Have received D.V.D. which has proved to be very informative,however I was not very impressed with the end result of the apartment obviously a lot different than I had imagined it.Very small and what seems to be of poor quality; it really opened my eyes. I was obviously misled at the early stages.

“Needing to obtain a rapid “snagging” service on a new property development in Bansko, we searched the internet for possible surveyors. BG Surveyor stood out with their comprehensive services and the promise that they could perform the survey within a few working days of appointment. This they did very professionally, with an initial rapid email exchange and then the production of an extremely detailed snagging list in both English and Bulgarian – they even sent this direct to my developer and liaised with them direct. The DVD of the property was really useful, giving more detail than photos could ever do. The follow-up survey was done extremely quickly, once BG Surveyor had confirmed with the developer that all reparations were made, and gave us all the comfort we needed.
Whilst you might possibly find a cheaper snagging service, this will not be a proper survey as with BG Surveyor, and I doubt it anyone could offer a more professional service. If this were eBay, they would have a 100% score!”

Dear Ivo.
Just a note to thank you for providing us with an extremely comprehensive and detailed, twenty three page report on our property at Kaliakria.
The developer has agreed to carry out the remedial works outlined in that report by the 27th September 2007. Upon that undertaking we have agreed to go ahead with the transfer of deeds.
I feel that in your preminalary survey documentation, you should request that clients make you fully aware of any particular requests or additions made between themselves and the developer, this would of saved you time and additional expense, also it would of being outlined by yourselves, that the agreed additions and changes to the property layout made between us the client and the developer had not in fact being made.
Once again, thanks for the detail given in your report. I can assure you, that when we purchase a further property in Bulgaria we will be using yourselves as our completion Surveyor's, before carrying out completion of contracts on the property.

Survey of a one bed apartment in Pomorie
I live in London, and was considering buying a Bulgarian apartment. Ivo Tanev organised everything regarding the survey for me, offered a reasonable price, and answered all of my questions by email. The survey was thorough, well done and promptly completed. He even got a builder to quote for some building works I was interested in.
The survey showed me what work needed to be done to the property before I could move in, to make it modernised and safe, which was valuble information. Most of all, Ivo was very friendly and helpful.
